Pundit claims rumoured Spurs target has already decided his next club

French football pundit Jerome Rothen has revealed that Thomas Munier, who is said to be wanted by Tottenham, has already agreed to join Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Meunier is reportedly on Tottenham’s radar in the summer as Jose Mourinho attempts to strenthen his defensive options (Football Insider).

The Belgian international has been a regular for PSG at right-back since moving to the French capital in 2016 but it is revealed that his contract with the Ligue 1 giants is running out in the summer.

The 28-year-old has not only played with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld for Belgium but he has also shared a dressing room with Lucas Moura, Serge Aurier and Giovani Lo Celso at PSG.

However, Rothen, who was a winger for PSG in his playing days, has revealed that the defender has agreed to sign for Borussia Dortmund, just days after the French giants dumped the Bundesliga side out of the Champions League.

Rothen is quoted by RMC Sport (as relayed by besoccer) as saying: “Borussia Dortmund have closed the signing of Thomas Meunier. I can assure you 100%.”

While I thought Menuier would have been a good addition to our squad, Max Aarons would still be my first preference. He is unlikely to cost too much and has the potential to evolve into one of the best right-backs in the league over the coming years. Competition from Aarons might also push Aurier to deliver more often.
