Pundit claims Spurs man has ‘got too much arrogance’ to leave the club

Noel Whelan believes that Daniel Levy is too arrogant to consider walking away from Tottenham Hotspur despite the recent European Super League debacle.

Tottenham’s decision to sign on to the proposed Super League (before withdrawing after fan backlash) has not gone down well with the fan base, with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust (THST) calling for the resignation of the entire Spurs executive board.

Some sources have suggested that Joe Lewis could come under increasing pressure to sell the club after the Super League debacle thus potentially leaving Levy with a fight to keep his job.

Some Spurs fans on social media have called for Levy to resign after the events of last week. However, The Athletic have revealed that the Tottenham chairman has no intention of walking away from his role anytime soon.

Whelan is certainly not surprised by that update, with the pundit insisting that the Spurs supremo will not want to give up the power he has at the club.

When asked whether he could see Levy resigning, the former Coventry City striker told Football Insider: “He’s got too much arrogance to walk away.

“He likes being part of a big club like that, it gives him power that he’s tried to show in the wrong way by joining the Super League.

“You’ve got a lot of people there with a lot of money and a lot of power but not enough love and care for the fans who love the clubs properly.”
