Pundit claims Spurs player is setting a bad example for young footballers

Jamie O’Hara has slammed Son Heung-min for the way he went down when the ball was kicked at him in the second half against West Ham, labelling the South Korean’s antics as embarrassing.

After struggling for form over recent weeks, Son found his goalscoring boots against the Hammers, netting a brace to help his side win 3-1.

Apart from his goals, the 29-year-old also looked a threat whenever he got on the ball, running at the West Ham backline on several occasions.

The forward was also involved in a controversial incident in the second half as he went down dramatically when the ball was kicked at the back of his leg by Hammers defender Kurt Zouma.

The West Ham man certainly did not appear to kick the ball with any sort of force and was around 10 yards away from the Spurs forward.

O’Hara blasted Son for his antics, accusing the Spurs star of ‘unsportsmanlike’ behaviour.

The former Tottenham midfielder told talkSPORT about the incident: “That was embarrassing. I love Son and he was absolutely brilliant yesterday.

“But you can’t be doing that, Zouma kicks the ball at him and he goes down like a sack of potatoes.

“I just think it gives a really bad look to all the young up and coming footballers out there. You don’t want to do that. It’s unsportsmanlike.

“Why do you want to get players sent off? If it’s a bad tackle then fair enough. But stuff like that, come on.”

That was pretty embarrassing from Son and I can certainly understand why some of the West Ham players were fuming at the incident. Too many players these days are happy to exaggerate incidents in order to get opposing players sent off.
