Pundit claims Spurs should take tips from Newport County

Tottenham Hotspur were originally due to open their new stadium back in September 2018, however, fast forward over five months and the ground has still yet to open.

The 62,000 seat stadium has been hit with delay after delay, and there are now question marks over whether it will open this season at all.

Tottenham have instead been condemned to another season of Wembley so far, playing every single game away from home.

It is clear many of the fans have lost patience with the national stadium too, as the attendance and atmosphere has been dwindling week on week.

Despite these hardships, Tottenham are actually flying high in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Spurs are just five points off the top in the Prem, and have one foot in the quarter finals of the Champions League after beating Dortmund 3-0 in the first leg.

talkSPORT pundit, Dean Saunders, has now claimed that Spurs should take tips from League 2 Newport County, after they erected a new stand to face Man City in just a week.

Saunders spoke on talkSPORT’s The Final Word (as quoted by HITC): “Whoever is building Tottenham’s ground, you want to have a word with people in Newport. They built a stand in a week.

“There’s a big stand up there [against Manchester City]. It wasn’t there when they played Middlesbrough.”
