Pundit claims Spurs star has ‘changed his mind’ on exit after Conte turnaround

Paddy Kenny has claimed Harry Kane could ‘change his mind’ on leaving Tottenham having seen the club’s change in fortunes under Antonio Conte.

The 28-year-old has found himself to be in an awkward situation this term after attempting to force a move to Manchester City throughout the majority of last summer.

The failed move to Pep Guardiola’s side has seemingly had an effect on Kane’s form this season, where he currently has just four Premier League goals to his name at the halfway stage of the campaign.

However, the England captain has seen his performances pick up following the appointment of Conte, with the Italian remaining unbeaten in his opening eight league games in charge of the club.

With Spurs now in touching distance of the Champions League places, former Sheffield United goalkeeper Kenny believes Kane may now have a change of heart in terms of wanting to leave the club and suggests he could even commit his future in N17.

He told Football Insider: “The season has completely turned around since Conte came in. Kane has been a big part of that. He will have seen the club’s new direction under this world-class manager.

“He’s allowed to change his mind, that can happen. Circumstances change.

“They could go into the top four if they win their games in hand and they have some decent fixtures coming up.They are meant to be having a rubbish season so it would be a great achievement to get into the top four.

“No one wants Kane now, or rather, no one could afford him when there are other options available. So why not commit to Tottenham? I expect it’s happening now.”

Conte has caused a very positive turnaround at Spurs and seems to be influencing plenty of things on and off the pitch. Kane also looks to be playing better and the big-money move he wanted may have passed if Man City have other options on their list.
