Pundit claims the return of this star could save Mourinho’s Tottenham job

Former Liverpool forward, Stan Collymore, has claimed that Harry Kane’s return to fitness could end up saving Jose Mourinho’s job as Spurs resume Premier League action this week.

The suspension of the league for the past three months has allowed Kane the time he needed to regain his fitness following a hamstring injury suffered against Southampton in January.

The Spurs star had been forced to undergo surgery to correct the issue, thus serving a near-six-month break from competitive football.

Collymore believes that Kane’s return from injury will not just give Tottenham’s dressing room a huge lift but might actually end up saving Mourinho from the sack.

The pundit also insisted that the Lilywhites will be one of the teams who are affected the most by having to play behind closed doors., along with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Collymore was a big fan of Pochettino and someone who has been critical of Spurs for appointing Mourinho right from the day the Portuguese coach arrived in North London. Therefore, I am not really surprised to see him say this. In reality, Jose’s job is certainly not under any threat for the time being, not only because he would have been promised more time by Daniel Levy, but also because we simply cannot afford to pay off his contract under the current financial climate.
