Pundit criticises ‘ridiculous’ Spurs man who ‘runs out of legs’ after 65 minutes

Jamie O’Hara has slammed the fitness of Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, claiming he ‘runs out of legs’ after just 65 minutes.

The French midfielder has managed to force his way into the fold at Tottenham and has started the last five Premier League games under Nuno Espirito Santo.

He was again entrusted for Spurs’ clash with West Ham on Sunday after putting in a commanding performance against a struggling Newcastle United the week prior.

However, Ndombele was substituted after 84 minutes in the 1-0 defeat at the London Stadium, meaning he has completed just one full game in the Premier League so far this season.

Former Spurs man O’Hara was less than impressed with the midfielder’s showing, and claimed he is frustrated with his inability to see out a full game, often running out of steam after just over an hour.

Speaking on his own Instagram live, he said: “[Tanguy] Ndombele just runs out of legs. He can only play 65 minutes and then he has to come off. Ridiculous.”

Ndombele is not the type of player to keep running at full steam for 90 minutes as we have seen before, but he can clearly last a full game as he demonstrated against Newcastle two games ago. But it is slightly frustrating that he is often substituted, meaning Spurs usually lose the creativity he offers.
