Pundit doesn’t get why player will not commit his future to Tottenham

Christian Eriksen certainly did not waste any time when he spoke about his future at Tottenham Hotspur just days after the Champions League final.

The Dane told the media in his homeland that he wanted to see a new challenge away from North London whilst admitting that he would be keen on a move to Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

A transfer to the Spanish giants has failed to materialise with the 27-year-old still playing his football for the Premier League side.

Eriksen is now within the last twelve months of his contract and could potentially walk away from the club for nothing next summer.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has admitted that he struggles to understand why Eriksen would want to leave the club.

Cascarino cited the fact that Eriksen is one of Tottenham’s key players and believes that it is an exciting time to be a player at the club, given the progress on and off the field.

He told talkSPORT: “I don’t get why he wants to leave Spurs. I don’t get it.

“I think Eriksen is at a club that he has played for a number of seasons, he’s recognised at that club, he can be a guy that drives them on.

“It’s an exciting time at the new stadium.”
