Dejan Kulusevski put in a top-drawer performance against Nottingham Forest on Friday night to earn Tottenham three points, and the Swedish star has been praised by former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood for his efforts in the game.
Tottenham had the lion’s share of possession at the City Ground and had plenty of opportunities to score, but in the end, it took two moments of brilliance from Dejan Kulusevski to settle a rather scrappy game.
With Forest pressing Spurs tightly and preventing them from playing their usual expansive style of football, it was up to Kulusevski to supply an inch-perfect cross onto the head of Richarlison to break the deadlock and give Spurs the lead late in the first half.
Then, Kulusevski bagged a goal for himself after Forest keeper Matt Turner sent a wayward clearance his way. The 23-year-old carried the ball into the box, and lashed a powerful right-footed strike past the American stopper.
Kulusevski was at the heart of everything great for Spurs on the night, and worked incredibly hard for Ange Postecoglou‘s side once again.
Dejan Kulusevski is underrated, says Sherwood
Speaking to Optus Sport after the game, Tim Sherwood was full of praise for Kulusevski’s performance, and made a big claim about the Spurs man. The former Tottenham boss even managed to sneak in a little joke regarding Kulusevski’s protective mask.
He said: “He’s a superhero. He’s so fluid, the boy can play absolutely anywhere. In my opinion, he’s one of the most underrated players in the entire Premier League.”

That was one of the best performances we’ve seen from Dejan Kulusevski, and a real signal of intent that he is ready to step up a level and become one of the most dangerous wingers in the league. If he keeps this up, he will have to be in the conversation for being the best wide player in the Premier League.
