Pundit hints one Spurs player could be tempted to join Chelsea in the summer

Stan Collymore has claimed that Chelsea could tempt Harry Kane to make a switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

It was reported last month that the Tottenham hierarchy are hopeful that Kane, whose current deal has 18 months left to run (Transfermarkt), will put pen to paper on a new contract (Ben Jacobs – Spurs Chat Podcast).

However, on the back of recent results, Spurs now look in very real danger of missing out on Champions League qualification, with some reports indicating that Antonio Conte’s days at the club might be numbered (Daily Mail)

Meanwhile, reports over the last few weeks have indicated that the likes of Bayern Munich (GiveMeSport) and Real Madrid (Todofichajes) are eyeing a move for Kane next summer while Chelsea’s new owners are also big admirers of the 29-year-old (CaughtOffside).

Collymore believes that a move across London to Graham Potter’s side might be more appealing to Kane than joining the likes of Manchester United or Newcastle United.

The pundit wrote in his column for CaughtOffside: “Kane is an interesting one, if he gives any kind of indication that he wants to leave Spurs, he’ll be a wanted man.

“If Man United, Newcastle and Chelsea all went for him, it could very well be the Blues who convince him. It wouldn’t be a hard move to make, the player wouldn’t need to relocate and he’d have a ready-made space available in their squad”

Despite all the money that Chelsea’s owners have invested into the squad, it looks very likely that the Blues will finish below Spurs this season.

So, I do not think Kane will be tempted to move to Stamford Bridge. The striker would also not want to damage his Tottenham legacy by moving to one of their local rivals.

However, a move to Manchester United could be quite tempting for the 29-year-old if the Red Devils come calling next summer, particularly if they continue progressing under Erik Ten Hag.
