Pundit hits out at these two Tottenham players after ‘disjointed’ Newcastle loss

Tottenham Hotspur have found it difficult to get going again at the start of this season, continuing their below-par form seen at the end of the last Premier League campaign.

The Lilywhites were a touch lucky to seal a late win against Villa on the opening day and certainly thanked the stars for a point away to Man City.

However, the luck dried up as they welcomed Newcastle to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the weekend, with the visitors taking the lead early and defending it with ease.

Tottenham defender, Davinson Sanchez, has repeatedly been given the nod over Jan Vertonghen so far this season, but the Colombian struggled against the Magpies.

He was directly at fault for the goal and was dragged all over the place throughout the match.

Lucas Moura has also come under fire from pundit, Tony Cascarino, for being a far better substitute than he is a starter for Spurs.

Cascarino said (The Times): “They look disjointed and lacking in ideas on the pitch.

“Players such as Lucas Moura only seem to perform when they come off the bench, Davinson Sánchez looked all over the place in defence and the situation with Christian Eriksen must be troubling for the squad.”
