Pundit is convinced 23-year-old Spurs target would be a good fit for Postecoglou

Jamie O’Hara has implored Tottenham Hotspur to do what is necessary to sign Conor Gallagher, remarking that the Chelsea star would add a lot of energy to Spurs’ midfield.

Even though Gallagher has been an important player for Mauricio Pochettino, The Daily Mail revealed on Monday that the Stamford Bridge hierarchy have done a U-turn on his future and are ready to put him up for sale.

The report claimed that many at the West London club believe January could be the right time to offload the 23-year-old and want to use the funds from his sale to sign a striker.

This was backed up by talkSPORT, who claimed on Tuesday that Blues will use the money from Gallagher’s sale to pursue Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen next month.

The outlet further added that Spurs are ready to pounce on the England international, having come close to landing the player last summer.

Would Conor Gallagher walk into the Spurs XI?

O’Hara is in full support of the idea, arguing that Gallagher will be a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system.

The pundit told talkSPORT (12 December, 9.40 am): “I really like Gallagher. He’s got brilliant energy, he gets around the pitch. He lacks a bit of what (James) Maddison has got, in terms of star quality, but he’s got energy. And you’ve seen with Ange Postecoglou, he likes high energy.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems clear that Gallagher is rated highly by Postecoglou as well as the Tottenham hierarchy. I fully expect the North London club to push ahead with a move for the 23-year-old if Chelsea do decide to put him on the shop window.
