Pundit makes an early prediction for Tottenham vs Arsenal North London Derby

Adrian Clarke has said that Arsenal’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in late April will be pivotal for the Gunners’ title hopes.

Until a few weeks ago, some Spurs fans would have been dreaming of the Lilywhites potentially forcing themselves into the title race.

However, Tottenham’s last few performances and results have shown that it is a bridge too far for Ange Postecoglou’s men, who look likely to be involved in a scuffle for fourth place with Aston Villa and Manchester United.

The title race now looks set to be a three-horse contest between Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal, but Spurs could yet have a say in where the trophy ends up as they play all three sides in their final five matches of the season.

Although Mikel Arteta’s side won at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season, the Lilywhites do have a good record at home against their local rivals and will be keen to spoil their title tilt.

Tottenham could help to decide the title race

Clarke earmarked that clash as one of two that will dictate the Gunners’ title chances and added that he expects Arteta to turn to the experience of Jorginho to help navigate the fixture.

The pundit told talkSPORT (27/2 6:44 am): “I thought Jorginho was also brilliant in the game at the weekend [against Newcastle] and he’s become Mikel Arteta’s big game player.

“I think the league title prospects for Arsenal will be decided on how they perform at the Etihad, how they perform at Old Trafford and how they perform at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. And I have a feeling that Jorginho is going to be drafted in for most of those games.”

If Arsenal still find themselves in the midst of a title race when they come to N17 on April 28, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would be rocking for the clash as Spurs fans would love to see their side be the ones who derail the Gunners’ title chances.
