Jamie O’Hara has reinforced his claim that Tottenham could make the Premier League top four and believes Antonio Conte can lead the side to silverware this season.

Spurs are unbeaten in all four league games under the Italian so far, with their most recent display yielding an assured 3-0 win over Norwich.

The victory saw the N17 side rise to fifth place and just two points behind London rivals West Ham, who occupy fourth, although Spurs have a game in hand.

The club’s recent upturn in form and reintroduction to the European fight has led ex-Spurs midfielder O’Hara to have confidence in his former side securing a Champions League spot come the end of the season.

He told talkSPORT: “Spurs, mathematically, if we beat Burnley are fourth. Why am I not allowed to say we can get Champions League football? We are there and right in the hunt.

“We’ve got Antonio Conte as the manager, who is only going to accept driving and pushing and trying to get into it.

“We’ve got Harry Kane, we’ve got Son, we’ve got a good side. We played well yesterday. We were a little bit open, but why am I not allowed to say Spurs can get in the Champions League. We can!

“Everyone thinks it’s a mockery me saying we can get Champions League.”

O’Hara also claimed Spurs should go all out for silverware this season by using their Europa Conference League participation to their advantage, despite their hopes of reaching the knockout stage hanging by a thread.

Spurs are now in a battle with Vitesse Arnhem who are just one point behind the final spot in Group G ahead of the final group match against already-qualified Rennes this Thursday.

However, O’Hara believes former Inter Milan boss Conte is the right man at the helm to lead end Spurs’ lengthy trophy drought.

He added: “I think we need to try and win the Europa Conference League and try and win a trophy.

“Antonio Conte can win a trophy for Spurs this season, whether it is the Carabao Cup, Europa Conference League – I think we can win a trophy this season and top four.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Conte has already turned the outlook of the club around in just a handful of games to make it a much more optimistic environment. There is still some work to do, but as long as everyone at the club is on the same page, there is no reason as to why silverware isn’t achievable.
