Pundit names three Spurs players who could be part of Conte January clearout

Alan Hutton has suggested that Davinson Sanchez, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele could be a few of a handful of players Tottenham will look to offload in a January clear-out. 

Since taking over the hot seat in North London, Conte has already made notable tweaks to the side, most notably moving to a back three formation.

Since the injury to Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez had filled in on the right side of three with success in the Premier League, even netting a rare goal against Norwich.

However, Dele and Ndombele have found game time hard to come by and didn’t exactly cover themselves in glory during their starts against Mura in the Europa Conference League.

Former Spurs defender, Alan Hutton, believes Sanchez, Dele and Ndombele could be three of the names on the list of outgoings in January.

Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton said: “I think you can go through them all. It won’t just be two or three.

“I think after that Mura game, it will have been a leveller to say to Antonio Conte where they actually are. The squad maybe isn’t as strong as he first thought.

“There will be a lot of players who could be part of a clear-out. Obviously, they are the big ones, the big names: Ndombele, Dele Alli, even Sanchez and some defenders.

“I still think a lot of these guys also have a lot to prove. Yes, he will have money to spend but I think he’ll have to clear some players out before they move forward.”

Despite being at the club for a few years now, Sanchez still has a bit to prove compared to others. But a move in January would be a bit strange considering he has done well since Conte’s arrival at Spurs and has emerged as a decent option in the back three. Dele and Ndombele may find it really tricky to break into the side over the next month.
