Pundit predicts lengthy spell on the bench for this Tottenham forward

Tottenham Hotspur have not yet been able to field one of their new exciting signings this season after Ryan Sessegnon moved from Fulham to North London.

Tanguy Ndombele has settled right into the first-team and has already shown glimpses of his form at Lyon last season.

Giovani Lo Celso has also now appeared five times for the Lilywhites, although he has yet to make his full debit as his early Spurs career has been interrupted by injury.

However, Sessegnon was hit with far worse injury problems when he first signed for Tottenham, keeping him out of training until recently.

The teenager has not yet appeared on the bench for Spurs, let alone getting a run out on the pitch in a competitive fixture.

Danny Mills has now tipped the young winger to make a series of appearances on the bench before he gets a chance in the starting XI. He claims that Sessegnon will be used as an impact substitute and nothing more.

Mills said (Football Insider): “The bench is relatively strong now, that’s been improved over the transfer window. You might have Lamela on the bench, you might have him [Moura] on the bench.

“I don’t see Sessegnon starting any games particularly soon, I think he’ll be used as an impact sub and no more than that.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Pochettino won’t rush Sessegnon in, that’s for sure. I can see him making five or ten appearances from the bench before he is given a start in any competition. Even Lo Celso is being eased into the squad and he will likely be a starting player eventually.
