Pundit predicts ‘loyal’ Spurs star does not have ‘any desire to move on’

Don Hutchison has claimed Son Heung-min appears to be loving life at Tottenham and predicted that the South Korean is not likely to push for a move away from the club.

When the drama around Harry Kane’s failed move to Manchester City was unfolding last summer (MEN), in stark contrast to the England captain, Son committed his future to the club, penning a new four-year deal.

With Kane having just two and a half years left on his current deal at Tottenham, his future continues to be the subject of much speculation ahead of the summer.

The likes of Manchester City (The Sun), Manchester United (Mirror), and even Newcastle United (GiveMeSport) are said to showing interest in snapping up the 28-year-old.

However, Hutchison has suggested that irrespective of what happens to Kane, Son would not be likely to jump ship. The pundit suggested that the former Bayer Leverkusen man comes across as someone who is happy in North London and has no desire to move on.

Hutchinson told Premier League Productions (22/03/22) about Son: “I think he is loyal. I think he is one of them, to me, when everything at Tottenham was going pear-shaped, people were jumping ship and Harry Kane wanted to leave.

“Son was the only one to go, ‘no, no. I will sign a brand new contract. I am happy’. I feel like with Son and his character, and I could be wrong, I feel like when I watch him play for Tottenham, then I don’t think he has any desire to move on.

“He might feel that he is playing for a brilliant football club. A huge club in England. And a brilliant manager.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Son evidently has a special connection with the club and the fan base. I am sure winning any piece of silverware with Tottenham would mean more to the South Korean than winning a couple of Premier League titles at Manchester City.

I see Son spending his entire peak years at Spurs before potentially moving back to his homeland for the final couple of years of his career.
