Pundit puts pressure on Mourinho ahead of Spurs clash

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has put the pressure on Jose Mourinho ahead of Monday night’s clash with Spurs.

Manchester United currently sit in ninth place after their 3-2 defeat on the weekend to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Spurs finished narrowly behind the Red Devils on the 2017/18 campaign and both sides experienced an underwhelming summer transfer window.

However, with spurs flying high after two wins from two games Redknapp has insisted this will be one of Mourinho’s most important games in his United career:

“Tottenham next Monday is now one of the biggest games of his United career. Spurs have started strongly but are yet to score at Old Trafford under Mauricio Pochettino.”

“A morale-boosting win could be just what Mourinho needs to keep the wolf from the door,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

Spurs defender, Toby Alderweireld looked set for a switch to United in the summer but a move did not materialise with the two sides unable to agree on a transfer fee.

History does favour United in this fixture with Spurs having tasted defeat on every occasion at Old Trafford since January 2014.

Spurs fans, will this be the first win at Old Trafford in over four years?
