Pundit reveals what he has heard about Eriksen’s attitude around the training ground

Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen now has well under a year remaining on his current contract in North London.

While a new deal is always a possibility for the Great Dane, it seems to be more unlikely by the day as we tick towards the winter transfer window.

As soon as January rolls around, Eriksen will be allowed to talk to any non-English clubs about a potential pre-contract agreement. The playmaker would then leave on a free transfer in the summer.

On the other hand, Spurs could still look to sell the midfielder in the January window to at least get some money for their star.

Eriksen was dropped to the bench against Red Star Belgrade last night after a poor performance against Everton on Sunday, although he did score a late goal against the Serbian side.

Ex-Spurs man and BBC pundit, Michael Brown, has now revealed what he has heard about Eriksen’s attitude around the training ground.

He said (BBC Radio 5 Live 06/11/19 at 21:30): “Christian Eriksen, we know he works hard. Wonderful stats last season, the highest, which surprised me of any other player and I don’t think you associate that with Eriksen. Is he hitting those targets this year? Is that why he’s not playing?

“After speaking to people last night, they said his attitude, his body language was excellent around the training ground. He’s going around and doing everything as normal, which was great to hear.

“There is so much criticism going his way that he doesn’t care, has he already packed his bags? Is he going somewhere else? The noises I’m getting are different. He’s totally doing the right thing. They said [within the club] he is first class.”
