Pundit rips into Tottenham trio – ‘Passenger’, ‘Disaster’, and ‘An accident waiting to happen’

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for another important Premier League clash on Merseyside this weekend as they face Everton at Goodison Park.

Not many people would have called the fact that this match is 16th plays 11th in the Premier League at the start of the season, but such has been the form of Everton and Spurs.

Tottenham are without a win in their last three Premier League outings, while Everton have lost four of their last five league matches.

It was another disaster class from Serge Aurier last weekend against Liverpool when he gave away the penalty that gifted the home side a win over Spurs.

Danny Rose also performed woefully at left-back, while Christian Eriksen failed to do his defensive duties against Robertson and offered nothing in attack.

Charlie Nicholas highlighted all three this week, blasting their form in a Tottenham shirt so far this season, but adding that Pochettino was not to blame.

He said (Sky Sports): ‘Christian Eriksen is a passenger at the moment, so he doesn’t belong in the team. There is too much confusion at Tottenham. The manager is not the problem but there is something within.

‘They have not signed players on longer-term contracts, like Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. Danny Rose is an accident waiting to happen, while Serge Aurier has been a disaster. It will be an open game and Silva will pick an attacking team here. It is so hard to predict what will happen to either of these sides.’
