Pundit says Spurs youngster is good enough to play for Manchester City

Jamie O’Hara has showered praise on Destiny Udogie, insisting that the Tottenham man would not look out of place in Manchester City’s starting eleven.

There was plenty of excitement surrounding Udogie last season, given the glowing reviews that he was getting at Udinese but one would have expected the youngster to take some time to adapt to the demands of the Premier League.

However, the 20-year-old has looked like someone who has been playing in the English top flight for many years, having settled in seamlessly.

Not only has the Italian been near-impossible to beat in one-on-one situations owing to his defensive nous and athleticism, but he has also demonstrated that he possesses the technical quality to play as an inverted full-back in Ange Postecoglou’s system.

Destiny Udogie could play for Man City, says O’Hara

Tottenham certainly look like they have a gem on their hands and O’Hara believes that the youngster is already good enough to play for the best teams in the world.

The pundit told talkSPORT (6:20pm, September 2, 2023): “This season he looks absolutely brilliant. I mean, he looks like a left-back that Manchester City would want in their team. He is that good.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I have been surprised by just how good Udogie has been on the ball. The 20-year-old is not only a good ball carried but always seems to have a picture of what is around him and so usually makes the right decision. There is no doubt that he could develop into a world-class player.
