Pundit urges club to hold out for more than £50m for Tottenham target

Former Galatasaray goalkeeper Ahmet Bulut has urged Besiktas to demand a huge fee from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur for striking sensation Semih Kilicsoy.

Kilicsoy is now seen as the next potential superstar of Turkish football, with the forward turning a lot of heads with his performances since breaking into the Besiktas side earlier this season.

The fact that he is delivering such displays at the tender age of 18 has predictably attracted the attention of Europe’s elite, including Tottenham.

Journalist Gokmen Ozcan was the first to report last week that Spurs are keeping an eye on the teenager’s performances ahead of the summer transfer window.

A couple of days ago, a report in A Spor suggested that alongside Spurs, the likes of Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, Atlético Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt are also keeping track of the youngster.

The report added that Besiktas are expected to ask €25m (£21.3m) to part ways with the striker next summer.

Semih Kilicsoy is predicted to be worth up to £51m

However, Bulut is confident that Kilicsoy is going to the very top of the game and implored the Istanbul club to demand around €50m-€60m (£42.6m-£51.2m) for the youngster.

When asked about the rumoured interest in the forward’s services, the pundit told Sporx: “He has played in all the age groups of the national team,” Bulut adds. “I have been following him since then. (Kilicsoy could be) a second Arda Güler.

“Spanish clubs are already following this player and asking questions. They say his fight (to sign him) is great. The price should be at least 50 to 60 million euros.”

No club is going to pay such astronomical amounts for a player who has only had one season at the senior level in the Turkish league. In fact, following the Premier League’s decision to enforce the PSR rules, we have already seen transfer fees starting on a downward trend, with the pattern likely to continue over the next couple of windows.
