Pundit urges club to pay £13m to sign Tottenham man this summer

Former Russia international Andrei Kanchelskis has said that Davinson Sanchez is exactly the kind of signing that Spartak Moscow need if they are to compete for the title next season.

Sanchez’s six-year spell at Tottenham is expected to come to an end this summer, with several outlets stating over the last couple of weeks that the Colombian is expected to be offloaded as part of the North London club’s summer clear out (Football.London and The Athletic).

It remains to be seen where the centre-back ends up, with a whole host of clubs credited with an interest in him.

Globo reported last month that Brazilian giants Flamengo are keen on snapping up Sanchez, who was said to be willing to join the South American giants.

Meanwhile, Sporx claimed earlier his week that Galatasaray had their eye on the Tottenham man while Relevo stated a couple of days ago that Villarreal were considering a move for the player, who was said to be valued at €15m (£12.8m) by Spurs.

Sanchez’s agent even confirmed this week that Spartak Moscow want to sign his client but he added that nothing concrete has been agreed so far (Sport Express).

Spartak Moscow urged to pay for Davinson Sanchez

Kanchelskis has now asked the Russian giants to snap up the Spurs star if they wish to close the gap on Zenit St Petersburg.

When asked about Spartak’s interest in Sanchez, the former Manchester United winger told Sport Express. “If the red-and-whites want to compete with Zenit, then they need such a player.

“Is it worth paying 15 million euros for him? If Spartak has the money, let them pay. If they want him, let them sign him.”

At 27 years of age, Sanchez still has the majority of his career ahead of him.

So, I suspect the Colombian would want to move to one of the top five leagues rather than signing for a Russian, Turkish or Brazilian side.
