Jamie O’Hara has admitted that he would love to see Tottenham snap up Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
Ward-Prouse’s talent has never been in question since he broke into the Saints first-team as a teenager back in 2012.
Mauricio Pochettino waxed lyrical about him in 2013, labelling him a ‘figurehead’ and role model during his time in charge of the South Coast club.
The midfielder’s stock has risen even further over the last couple of years, with the 27-year-old adding more goals and assists to his game, and regularly getting into England squads.
The midfielder showed his quality in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw at St Mary’s on Tuesday with his brilliantly struck volley in the first half.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that signing a central midfielder is not a priority for Antonio Conte next month, given the options he has at his disposal.
However, O’Hara has urged Tottenham to go after Ward-Prowse, insisting that the Saints man would add a lot to Conte’s midfield.
The pundit told Sky Sports about Ward-Prowse: “I would love him at Tottenham.
“He gives you 15 goal contributions a season, whether it’s from penalties, whether it’s free kicks, his set-pieces.
“He’s massive to have in your side and people say, he’s just a set-piece specialist – he’s not.
“He’s good on the ball. He works hard, he’s got great energy, he’s a leader. I really like Ward-Prowse, I think he’s brilliant.”
🗣 "I'd love him at Tottenham!"
Would James Ward-Prowse swap #SaintsFC for #THFC?
The England international opened the scoring against Tottenham before Spurs pulled level through Harry Kane's penalty.

Spurs Web Opinion
I believe Ward-Prowse would be an upgrade on both Winks and Hojbjerg. However, given how well Winks has performed over recent weeks, I would be surprised if Spurs signed a central midfielder in January.
