Pundit urges Spurs to sign two world class players who are both gettable

Tottenham have not added any players to their squad in the last two transfer windows, the only club in the top 5 European leagues to have that distinction.

While Pochettino’s men exceeded expectations by consistently picking up wins despite this fact, the lack of investment finally seems to have now caught up with the team.

Tottenham have now taken only one point from the last 12 on offer in the Premier League thus being knocked out of the title race, and with work to do to qualify for the Champions League.

With Pochettino being linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United, it is vital that Spurs invest heavily into the squad in the summer to convince the Argentine that the club has ambition.

Further, with next season being Tottenham’s first full season at their new stadium, a couple of marquee signings will certainly get the fans excited as well. Pundit Tony Cascarino has identified two players whom he thinks will improve Tottenham’s squad in the summer – Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric and PSG defender Thiago Silva.

Speaking to the Times, Cascarino said, “Potential is great, but the missing link is an established winner.

“Harry Kane is the captain, but he is a Tottenham man and is never going to demand more from Pochettino, never going to go in and ruffle feathers.

“They should aim to sign a big-name player. Real Madrid will be having a fire sale in the summer — could Spurs bring Luka Modric back? Paris Saint-Germain have financial fair play to contend with, could Spurs sign Thiago Silva?”
