QPR boss gives an update on Jack Clarke’s loan period in the Championship

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of players out on loan, including one of their 2019 summer signings in Jack Clarke.

Clarke was signed from Leeds United under the latter stages of the Pochettino reign, before being loaned immediately back to Marco Bielsa’s side.

However, the teenager found it difficult to break into the first-team at Leeds, despite the fact he played a major part towards the end of last season.

Spurs decided to recall Clarke from his frustrating loan spell in January, before loaning him back out to the Championship again, this time to Queens Park Rangers.

Unfortunately, Clarke has found it similarly difficult to break into the first-team at QPR, having not started a single Championship match for Mark Warburton’s side as of yet.

The Championship, much like every professional league in England, has been suspended until April 3/4 at the earliest (BBC).

Mark Warburton has now implied that Clarke will hopefully make a significant contribution before the end of the campaign.

He said (QPR website): “Jack Clarke, Rem (Aramide Oteh), all of these guys know that it’s there and they are going to be called upon in the next few weeks to make what I hope is a very significant contribution.”
