Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to have offered a cash plus player deal on a bid to sign a transfer target ahead of the new season.
Turkish news outlet Fotomac have claimed that Spurs are prepared to part with £17m and Vincent Janssen to land Fenerbahce’s 19-year-old midfielder Elif Elmas.
Janssen has had a tough spell in North London and despite coming back into Mauricio Pochettino’s squad towards the end of the season it appears that his long-term future could lie elsewhere.
Some Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to react to the speculation with one supporter even claiming that Danny Rose will have to Google who Elmas is, given his the fact he is a relatively unknown quantity on these shores.
Rose’s ‘Google’ comment was made in 2017 when he was critical of the club for continuing to sign players who weren’t household names (The Sun).
Elmas played 40 times for Fenerbahce in all competitions this season, scoring four goals.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted on social media to the rumours
