Alasdair Gold has said that Ben Davies is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.
Tottenham fans might have feared the worst when Micky van de Ven went down with an injury at the start of November but Davies has stepped into the centre-back role and been outstanding over the last couple of months.
The Welshman has once again proven how invaluable a squad player he is and just why so many Spurs managers have valued him highly.
The 29-year-old became the latest Tottenham player to pick up an injury, coming off with a hamstring problem in the FA Cup third-round win over Burnley last Friday.
Thankfully for Tottenham, the timing of the injury is not too bad as Micky van de Ven has now recovered while Cristian Romero also reportedly trained this week and is keen to play against Manchester United (Football.London).
In addition, Ange Postecoglou can also call on the services of new signing Radu Dragusin, who arrived at the club from Genoa this week.
Ben Davies could be out for four to six weeks
Gold revealed that Davies faces an extended spell on the sidelines, with the centre-back not expected to be on the treatment table for over a month.
The journalist said on his latest YouTube video: “Ben Davies, from what I understand, potentially four to six weeks is the kind of timeframe they’re looking at.
“But what I would say is that Ben Davies is quite quick healer, from previous kinds of issues he’s had. So, I’m sure he as a player will be looking to come back sooner than that.”

Realistically speaking, for the most part, Tottenham just have just one game a week over the next month and a half (that could change if we progress in the FA Cup).
This is not a bad time to lose Davies as the Welshman has played every minute of every game over the last couple of months and needs some rest.
