‘Quite unusual’ – Journalist says Spurs will not be pleased with recent Dragusin development

The Daily Express’ Charlie Gordon believes that Tottenham Hotspur will not take too kindly to the fact that Radu Dragusin’s agent has publicly declared that he sees the centre-back joining Real Madrid and Barcelona in a few years.

Tottenham fans have plenty of reasons to be excited following their capture of Dragusin, with the 21-year-old appearing to have all the attributes necessary to thrive in Ange Postecoglou’s backline.

The Romanian international, who made his debut at Old Trafford on Sunday, might need to bide his time to establish himself as a starter at the club, given how well Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have done this season, but the former Genoa man will certainly keep the pair on toes.

Will Spurs be annoyed at Radu Dragusin’s agent?

However, one thing that Spurs fans might be dreading is the tendency of the defender’s agent, Florin Manea, to regularly give interviews to the media about his client.

Manea was constantly speaking about Dragusin’s future and Spurs’ interest over the last month and he has already spoken publicly on a couple of occasions since the player sealed his switch to North London.

He first opened up on the reasons why the centre-back turned down Bayern Munich in favour of a move to Tottenham (TuttoMercatoWeb) and then bizarrely, he declared a few days ago that he sees the centre-back playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona in two or three years (Digisport).

When asked about Manea’s comments, Gordon has now said on The Spurs Chat Podcast: “I don’t think it’s going to go down well with Tottenham, I’ll put it that way.

“It’s quite unusual to see an agent speaking to the press publicly, using quotes in articles and stuff, it’s unusual to see that. It’s strange he would put that into the open when he’s about to join Tottenham and trying to endear himself to the fans.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if Tottenham reached out to Manea and made it clear to him that they would prefer him to not make any public declarations about Dragusin’s future.
