Radu Dragusin’s agent reveals how long they were speaking to Tottenham

Radu Dragusin’s agent, Florin Manea, has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have been speaking to him and the Romanian centre-back regarding a transfer for the past few months.

While Spurs fans are understandably excited to have Dragusin on board, it is fair to say that some of them are already growing tired of Manea’s constant statements to the media.

The 21-year-old’s representative was constantly speaking to the Italian press over the last month about Tottenham’s interest and his client’s future, and he has continued being quite vocal since the centre-back completed a switch to the Premier League side.

On Thursday, he irked Spurs and their supporters by stating that he sees Dragusin playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona in three or four years (Digisport).

Meana makes admission about Tottenham talks

The agent has now shed further light on how Dragusin’s move to North London came about, revealing that Ange Postecoglou’s men have been in contact for the last couple of months.

He revealed that the likes of Napoli and AC Milan had also expressed an interest in his client but the defender had made his mind up to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Manea told TuttoMercatoWeb: “We had been talking for two months (with Tottenham). Bayern Munich showed up on the last day before leaving and it’s normal to think about it. However, the boy kept his word with Tottenham.

“Napoli was the most concrete club. But Radu didn’t want to go to another Italian team, he didn’t even want to leave Genoa halfway through the season… he thought more about the Rossoblu fans than about his career.

“While Milan did a survey, I spoke to Moncada but told him that we had already chosen Tottenham. We are happy with the choice, Radu keeps it when he gives his word. Always.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is quite clear that Johan Lange and co put in plenty of groundwork ahead of the opening of the transfer window, which is why Spurs were seemingly able to land both Dragusin and Timo Werner as swiftly as they have.
