Rafa van der Vaart posts heartfelt message on Twitter after watching Spurs

Tottenham cult hero Rafael van der Vaart has posted a congratulatory message on Twitter after watching his former side defeat Aston Villa this week.

The Dutchman was in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side put an end to a three-game losing streak in the Premier League with a 2-1 win.

A tidy finish from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and an own-goal by Villa full-back Matt Targett on either side of an Ollie Watkins goal were enough to secure Nuno a vital three points.

Van der Vaart enjoyed an entertaining two seasons in North London, and his dedication and fight for the shirt earned him the endearment of Spurs fans all around.

Following Spurs’ triumph over Villa, he took to social media to post a message documenting the great time he had watching his former side, along with a handful of snaps taken of him around the stadium.
