Rafa Van der Vaart reacts to fan tribute

There have been a whole host of fan favourites at White Hart Lane down the years, but the name Rafael Van der Vaart will also rank highly.

The Dutchman only played for Spurs for two full seasons, but he made an instant impact in North London.

His passion, silky skills, and goals against Arsenal made him an instant hit after his sensational last-minute move from Real Madrid.

Van der Vaart played for the Lilywhites between 2010 and 2013, enjoying a historic Champions League run in that time.

He scored 28 goals in 77 appearances for Tottenham before leaving for Hamburger SV in 2013.

To this day, Rafa still claims his Tottenham years were the best in his career (talkSPORT), and that it was a huge mistake to leave the club.

Van der Vaart took the tough decision to retire a couple of weeks ago after sustaining an injury at his current club, Esbjerg.

Tottenham fans paid tribute to the club favourite by singing his very own song for him.

Rafa then reacted on Twitter with thanks.
