Rafael van der Vaart shares his excitement ahead of the North London derby

A North London derby is always a passionate affair and when a player from outside of the country embraces the passion of the day, it always sits well with the Tottenham Hotspur faithful.

In recent years, no player has shown no more passion and desire on derby day than Rafael van der Vaart.

The Dutchman was instrumental in more than one North London contest and not once, but twice nutmegged Jack Wilshere during a match at White Hart Lane in April 2011.

The former Real Madrid midfielder scored four goals against the Gunners as a Spurs player between 2010 and 2012 (talkSPORT).

He took to Twitter earlier today to share his excitement ahead of tomorrow’s match at the Emirates.

What we would give to have his creativity back in the side tomorrow after Spurs have struggled in their opening three matches of the new Premier League campaign.

Spurs have won one of their last 26 Premier League visits to Arsenal (W1 D10 L15).
