Rafael van der Vaart takes to Twitter following Tottenham’s win against Arsenal

Rafael van der Vaart wasted no time in taking to Twitter following Tottenham Hotspur’s North London derby victory.

Spurs secured the bragging rights against Arsenal in the first match between the two fierce rivals at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Jose Mourinho’s side started well only for an error from Serge Aurier to gift the ball to Alexandre Lacazette, who powered past his compatriot Hugo Lloris to find the back of the net.

A further defensive lapse saw Heung-min Son punish Sead Kolasinac’s weak pass and the South Korean finished with a neat chip beyond Martinez.

With ten minutes left on the clock, Toby Alderweireld, who had started the resumption of the top flight on the bench proved to be the hero when the Belgian headed from a Son corner to take his side above Arsenal in the table.

Van der Vaart secured his place in the hearts of many Spurs fans with his performances against Arsenal between 2010 and 2012 with the Dutchman congratulating his former side on securing the win.
