‘Rally up the guys’ – England star gives insight into Harry Kane’s leadership skills

Raheem Sterling has praised Harry Kane’s leadership qualities, stating that the England captain knows how to rally his teammates.

Kane’s importance to the England side cannot be overestimated, with the Three Lions being reliant on their captain to get them the majority of their goals over the last six years.

England’s hopes of going deep in the World Cup likely depend on the Tottenham man delivering, and Gareth Southgate will be hoping to see his striker win the Golden Boot yet again, just as he did in Russia four and a half years ago.

The 29-year-old needs just three goals to become the nation’s all-time leading goalscorer and one would certainly not bet against him clinching the record in Qatar.

Kane has not only been able to deliver on the pitch consistently for England but has also proven to be a capable leader, often taking decisive stands on incidents like racist abuse directed at his England teammates (Football.London).

Sterling has now spoken in glowing terms of the way in which the striker leads the England side.

The Chelsea star told GQ Sports about Kane: “A leader, he leads by example, he can rally up the guys, he does that for sure. And yeah, he can score a goal when you need one.”

Kane may not be the most charismatic of speakers but he is certainly a fantastic leader. Not only does he lead by example but he is the sort of player his teammates can rely on, and is thoroughly professional at all times.

He is a great role model for kids across the country to look up to, which is perhaps not something that can be said about some past England captains.
