RB Leipzig send classy tweet to Tottenham after knocking them out of Champions League

At the end of last season, Tottenham were preparing for the Champions League Final in Madrid against Liverpool, a game they would eventually lose 2-0.

The Lilywhites managed to come through the group stages in second place this season, drawing high-flying German side RB Leipzig in the first knockout round.

However, Tottenham were demolished across the two legs, losing 1-0 at home before Leipzig picked them apart 3-0 in Germany last night.

After exits from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, and with the Premier League far out of Tottenham’s reach, they now have no silverware to play for this season.

Instead, the club must fight to at least qualify for the Champions League to go again next season, or risk dropping down into the Europa League, or perhaps even no European football at all.

Despite the heavy victory, RB Leipzig stayed humbled on Twitter with a classy message to Tottenham, wishing them the best.
