Fans have reacted in force to Tottenham’s tricky Champions League group draw, having been pitted against Spanish giants Real Madrid, German side Borussia Dortmund as well as Cypriot champions APOEL.
Last season, most considered Tottenham’s champions league group to be relatively straight forward, facing up against CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco.
However, Spurs failed to qualify from the group, settling for a Europa League spot instead, with Monaco surprisingly making it all the way to the Semi-Finals.
In light of Tottenham being drawn into a much tougher group, many fans have voiced their concerns over the likelihood of Spurs qualifying for the second successive season.
Numerous fans seem to believe that another Europa League spot is the best Spurs can realistically hope for:

No disrespect to spurs, they should just concentrate on winning the Europa League while they are in the UCL group stage.

Ronaldo and Aubameyang running at Ben Davies. Time to revive my passion for gardening.

I think it's fair to say Spurs got the short straw among the PL teams in the UCL draw today. Pains me to say but think United will do best 🚌

There are however many who are excited to see Spurs potentially rise to the challenge. After all, if you’re going to win anything, you have to beat the big teams at some point:
Spurs poor in a very winnable group last season. Huge, exciting draw this time around. Embrace it. #THFC #UCL

Man U and Liverpool with perceived easy groups. Us with group of death obviously.

#Spurs must be cursing their luck getting #Real & #BVB. Would be a HUGE feather in the cap of Pochettino if they progress. #UCLdraw

And finally, Peter Crouch was on hand to offer a humourous nod back to Tottenham’s previous run-in with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid for spurs . If they don't have an idiot sent off early they have a great chance
