It has been reported that Real Madrid are planning to completely revamp their squad in the summer after what looks like a season that will end trophyless for the club. The Los Blancos have been linked with several superstars around Europe, including Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Dane is yet to sign a new contract with Spurs and with his current contract with the club coming to an end in 2020, he has been linked with moves to the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

However, if Madrid fans were to have their way, then it looks like Eriksen is unlikely to be near the top of the club’s wish list.

Spanish publication Marca have run a poll asking supporters who they would want to sign this summer in each of Madrid’s problem positions – centre-back, full-back, defensive midfield, attacking midfield and striker.

Over 200,000 fans answered the poll which contained two Spurs players, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen. However, neither Eriksen nor Kane did well in the poll.

While 71% of fans opting for Chelsea star Eden Hazard compared to Eriksen who got only 15% of the vote, PSG star Kylian Mbappe walked away with 79% of the votes compared to Kane who only secured 8%.

So if the club listen to the fans’ preference, then it looks like the Spanish giants are unlikely to come for the Spurs pair this summer.
