Real Madrid man who has been linked to Tottenham admits Premier League desire

Real Madrid midfielder, James Rodriguez, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar this summer, has admitted that he would love to play in the Premier League.

The Colombian international completed a big-money move to Madrid after shining in the 2014 World Cup.

However, he fell down the pecking order after a couple of seasons in the Spanish capital and spent the 2017/28 and 2018/19 seasons on loan at Bayern Munich before returning to Madrid again last season.

CanalRCN reported back in April that Tottenham were one of the contenders to snap up the 29-year-old this summer.

Arsenal are also said to hold an interest in the attacking midfielder, who only has one year left to run on his contract with Madrid (AS).

Rodriguez has now seemingly given a boost to Spurs and Arsenal by admitting that he would like to play in England.

In an interview with Daniel Habif (as relayed by Goal.com), the midfielder said: “I’ve already been in several good leagues and the only thing missing is Serie A and the Premier League.

“You have to see where I want to go or where they want me to go. Going to England would be a good thing, it’s a top league.”

The fact that James has only one year to run on his contract could potentially make it a lucrative deal but I do not see him as a Mourinho kind of player. Besides, it is not an area of the pitch where we are crying out for additions.
