Report: Real Madrid set staggering asking price for Gareth Bale

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have been dreaming of a Gareth Bale return ever since he left North London for sunny Spain in September 2013.

Bale moved from Spurs to Real Madrid for a then world record fee of £85.3m, and has since gone on to score 102 goals in 227 games for the Spanish giants.

However, this impressive goal return has not been enough to earn Bale a place in the Madrid supporters’ hearts, as the fans still remain hostile towards him.

The Daily Mail now report that Bale is no longer in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for next season, and as a result, Madrid are willing to sell up for £113m.

This seems like an extraordinarily high fee for a player nearing 30-years of age, and one that has suffered from 22 separate injuries since joining the club.

If this report is true, that would all but rule out a return to Spurs, as Levy is unlikely to shell out that kind of money, plus Bale’s wages.
