Real Madrid source ‘reveals’ Gareth Bale’s plans for this season

Gareth Bale has no intention of leaving Real Madrid before his contract expires in 2022 according to reports in Spain.

Sources close to AS have confirmed that the Welshman will remain at the Bernabeu despite manager Zinedine Zidane telling him that he is not part of his plans for the future.

Bale had been linked with a possible loan move back to Tottenham Hotspur (The Sun), but it looks as if he will remain in the Spanish capital.

The forward, who is 30 later this month is said to earn a staggering £600,000-a-week with the La Liga giants which makes him an almost impossible option for most clubs, even on loan (The Sun).

Despite being told by Zidane, he is said to be determined to prove the Frenchman wrong when given an opportunity to play next season and force his way into his plans.

Zidane is said to be keen to offload the former Spurs fan before the transfer closes in England on August 8th.

A source told AS: “Gareth believes that if he hasn’t given everything that was expected of him, it has been because he hasn’t had luck with injuries. But he feels that this spell has passed. He is optimistic that he is now under the right conditions to succeed,”

“On paper, Bale is the best we have. But another thing is what he has shown so far.”

He added: “He has always made a magnificent response in the big matches.”

“If the player is determined to stay, he will start at a disadvantage with Zidane, but there is no doubt that he will have time to change the coach’s opinion if his performance is good,”

“If Bale wants to see out his contract and stay at Real Madrid, what the club will not do is throw stones against their own property.”
