‘Real nuisance’ – Mark Lawrenson shares Man Utd v Spurs score prediction

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League match against Manchester United in tomorrow evening’s late kick-off.

Antonio Conte’s side head to Old Trafford looking to keep their impressive start to the season going against a United side who have struggled at times under Erik ten Hag.

Tottenham have not had it all their own way against United in recent times, having lost each of their last three top-flight meetings.

Lawrenson believes that Spurs will take all three points back to north London with them, claiming that if the away side manages to score the first goal of the game, it will prove difficult for United to try to break them down.

He told Paddy Power: “Man Utd are still seeking a bit of rhythm under Erik ten Hag, they’re getting there slowly, but this could be a tricky one.

“Spurs are a tough side to beat, and if they score first are a real nuisance to break down.

Prediction: Man Utd 1-2 Spurs.

United away is always a difficult test, however with the likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa having secured draws there already this season, victory for Conte’s side is not out of the question.

Conte will once again likely want his side to try to soak up the attacking threat posed by the likes of Martial, Ronaldo, Eriksen, Rashford and Fernandes and try to hit them on the counterattack.
