Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham are now ‘really close’ to completing a deal for Sporting Lisbon right-wing-back, Pedro Porro.
Spurs and Sporting have apparently been in meetings all day long and now just have a few crucial details to complete over the coming hours before a transfer is sealed.
This comes after the same journalist reported earlier today that there was a ‘growing optimism’ that a deal could be completed between Spurs and the Portuguese club.
The Daily Mail also reported that Tottenham were keen to complete the transfer today out of fear that Chelsea could swoop in at the last minute and disrupt the deal.
O Jogo claimed that everything now points towards the North London club paying the full €45m (£39.6m) that Sporting Lisbon were demanding, but without actually triggering Porro’s release clause so they can pay the fee over time.

Spurs Web Opinion:
We all know, you’re not a Spurs fan if you are still not worried something might go wrong at the last moment. Hopefully, we can see him holding up a Tottenham shirt in the next 48 hours or so, then we can breathe a sigh of relief!
