‘Really close team’ – Kulusevski names his three closest friends at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski has settled into life in North London very quickly, and the attacker has now named his three favourite Spurs teammates.

Kulusevski joined Spurs in January of this year from Juventus on a two-year loan deal worth a reported £8.3 million. The club has an obligation to make that move permanent for £29.2 million if certain criteria are met (Sky Sports).

The Swedish international made an instant impact upon his arrival, contributing five goals and eight assists in his 18 appearances in the Premier League last season (Transfermarkt).

It’s fair to say Kulusevski’s involvement was a big factor in Spurs securing a top-four finish last year, and the attacker has started strong this season. He has one goal and two assists to his name this campaign already (Transfermarkt).

A permanent switch to Tottenham has been all but confirmed, with Conte previously saying (via Jonathan Veal) “He is a Tottenham player 100 per cent in every aspect, not officially but he is 100 per cent a Tottenham player.”

The club would be smart to activate that permanent move sooner rather than later too, as the Evening Standard reports it could reduce the fee to £24.9 million, saving Spurs £5 million.

So, what’s the secret to Kulusevski’s instant impact at Spurs? Good friends, of course. The Swede was speaking to Spurs Play recently, and named three players in particular who he gets on with the best within the squad.

“I have a lot of friends here. Rodrigo Bentancur, Cristian Romero, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. It’s a really close team,” Kulusevski said.

Spurs Web Opinion

Dejan Kulusevski seems like such a nice guy, so we’re sure everybody wants to be his best friend. Indeed, the whole Spurs squad appears to be brimming with positivity and great bonds look to be forming throughout the whole team, which can only lead to good things on the pitch moving forward.
