Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has praised the impact of Timo Werner during his time with the club.
The German international was brought to North London in the early stages of the January transfer window to help fill the void left by Heung-min Son after the club captain headed off for international duty with South Korea.
Werner, who celebrated his twenty-eighth birthday yesterday scored his first goal since sealing his loan switch from RB Leipzig in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace

Postecoglou pleased with Werner
The former Chelsea man managed to get himself in the six-yard box to tap home after some good work from Brennan Johnson down the right flank.
Werner had earlier missed a brilliant opportunity during the first half of the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when he tried to go around the keeper before finishing, but saw his shot saved.
Postecoglou told Football.London: “I think he’s been really important. If we hadn’t brought him in there would have been far more of a burden on the other players, especially with Sonny away. We threw him straight in. He’s made an impact but I think he can get even better.”

It was great to see Werner get off the mark against Palace and hopefully, that will give him more confidence in front of goal.
His general play has been very good and has proven his worth with more than one assist since joining Tottenham.
