Recently injured Spurs payer spotted back in training video ahead of Aston Villa clash

In what comes as a potential boost to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their trip to Villa Park, Ryan Sessegnon was spotted in the training video posted on the club’s official YouTube channel.

Just when it seemed like Sessegnon had established himself as the first choice at left wing-back, the youngster picked up a hamstring injury which has kept him out of action for the past five matches (transfermarkt).

With Sergio Reguilon also not being fir for the clash against Newcastle, Antonio Conte had to play Matt Doherty at left wing-back.

The Spurs boss admitted last week that Sessegnon and Oliver Skipp are both ‘very close’ to returning to action (Football.London).

In the training video released by the club (at 0:18), Sessegnon was spotted in the gym along with the rest of the Spurs squad.

While the former Fulham man was not seen with team during the group training exercises, the fact that he was being put through his paces at the gym is a welcome sign for the Lilywhites.

However, Skipp reportedly faced a setback in his recovery after he felt some discomfort in his pelvic area upon his return to outdoor training earlier this week (Evening Standard).

Perhaps the clash against Villa might come too early for Sessegnon but one would expect him to be back for the Brighton game. Skipp’s situation is a lot more worrying as the club seem to be unsure about the nature of the problem and his recovery. Hopefully, this does not turn out to be a recurring issue for the midfielder.
