Harry Redknapp admits that Tottenham cannot replace Luka Modric if the midfielder is going to be out for a number of weeks.
The Croatian limped off during the 1-1 draw at West Brom, with fears he may have suffered a similar broken leg to last season which kept him out for several months.
Redknapp said: “We’ve got strength in depth, but you always have one or two players who make the difference to you.
“Modric makes the difference. In my opinion, he could play in any team, anywhere in the world.
“He’s a top, top player. He is fantastic. When you lose him, you can’t replace him. You’ve got other people who are good players, great players, but he’s a special player.
“So it will be a massive loss for us if he is going to be out for a while.”
