Redknapp admits surprise over what Spurs insider has told him about Kane

Former Tottenham boss, Harry Redknapp has revealed a Tottenham insider told him they expect Harry Kane to stay in North London beyond the transfer window.

Redknapp did not reveal who the source was or what position they hold, but claimed they believe Daniel Levy will not budge from his price and Kane will only leave if someone meets that value.

The Evening Standard reported recently that Man City remain confident they will get a deal for Kane over the line before the transfer window slams shut this summer.

Pep Guardiola even admitted that Man City would like to sign the England captain, while admitting it would be impossible if Tottenham do not want to negotiate.

Nuno revealed Harry would be available for selection against the Premier League champions this Sunday, while Tottenham reportedly maintain he is not for sale.

On the possibility of Kane leaving, Harry Redknapp said (BetVictor Podcast on 10/08/21 at 19:00): “I spoke to somebody at Tottenham who told me that they think Harry Kane will stay – which I was quite surprised about.

“They just think Daniel will not budge from the price he’s put on him [Kane] and he’s not going to say ‘well Harry’s been a good servant and he really wants to go so we’ll take this for him or whatever’.

“If he doesn’t get the money then I don’t think he’s going to budge. Unless he gets that money then he’s going to be there next season that’s what I was told.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would also not be surprised to see Harry Kane remain at Tottenham past the summer. Unless Man City offer £150m or above, I just can’t see Daniel Levy selling. I could even see Kane signing a new deal with a buyout clause.
