Redknapp aware of tough finale

Harry Redknapp has aired his belief that the race for fourth place will go down to the wire.

Spurs moved back into the much-coveted fourth position with a 3-0 win at Wigan on Sunday and only one point separates the four teams vying for the final Champions League place.

Their next two league games come at home to in-form Everton, who could yet muscle their way into contention, whilst a visit to Manchester City awaits in the first March fixture.

Spurs will also have to overcome Bolton in an FA Cup fifth round replay on Wednesday, so the next couple of weeks could really shape Spurs’ season.

Redknapp said, “We will be scrapping for fourth spot until the end of the season and we have as good a chance as anyone.”

Redknapp also expressd his delight once again at his attacking options, after outcast Roman Pavlyuchenko came off the bench at the DW Stadium to fire a brace.

The Spurs boss also has Eidur Gudjohnsen to call upon, which gave him license to allow Robbie Keane to make the loan move to Celtic.

“Crouch and Defoe are in god form and Pav is now back in form. Pav is a top class player with great ability and great quality.

“Eidur also has an opportunity as he is someone I like. It has given me a nice problem and it is a good position to be in.”
