Harry Redknapp is delighted with the Champions League draw.

Spurs will face Real Madrid in the quarter finals and travel to Spain for the first leg on Tuesday, April 5 before the home leg at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, April 13.

You want to play in these games,” said Redknapp.

“You want to manage in these games and the fans want to go and see these games. It couldn’t be better.”

“It’s a fantastic draw,” added Redknapp. “What a game to look forward to against one of the greatest clubs in world football. To play Real Madrid at this stage of the Champions League is fantastic for us and we’re all looking forward to it.

“It’s going to be a difficult game, obviously. They are a great side. But you have to look forward to games like this. These are the great days in your life and great days in Tottenham’s history. We’ll go there and give it a real go. It’s an exciting game. You couldn’t have a more exciting or tougher game.

“I’ve said all along that the two Spanish clubs were, for me, the favourites to win it. We’ve drawn Real Madrid who are pushing Barcelona all the way for the championship with big players and a fantastic manager. In my opinion, he’s one of the all-time greats.

“But we’ve got a chance against anyone. We feel we can play against anyone and give them a game. We’re looking forward to it.”

  1. yeah too right. We should have eveyone fit by then. Being underdogs in europe so far has been in our favour. I think we're much better against european teams-seems to suit our style of play-and we're underestimated by the big euro clubs! Wanted to avoid chelsea and man utd. Couldn't stand being knocked out by one of them.

  2. I knew we would beat AC Milan, I knew they were not a good team and was always confident we would progress in that tie. I believe Real Madrid will have to much for us though. It has been a great run in the champions league but I fear it will come to an end against Real.

    • Tez – You are a shambles. A terrible attitude – over two legs and with the 2nd at home we stand every chance of going to the semis and Shakhtar. Have a feeling they could surprise Barca.

    • We've already beat both of Italy's top teams, why not do the same in Spain? If everyone can stay fit and focused, I see no reason that we couldn't have a successful conquest and even a possible tasty rematch against Inter in the final. The story is there to be written. Come on you spurs

  3. we can beat real if we got the ball rolling for us. Barca we can't unless we come into such a run of form that we really get it together. Tez the tosser will die soon of a broken heart cos he cant get pussy.
